Ten Tetris Facts
1. The original Tetris sold a staggering 33 million copies, when it was bundled with the best-selling Game Boy.
2. Tetris was first created to run on a Russian computer called an Electronika 60, when Alexey Pazhitnov worked at the Moscow Academy of Sciences.
3. One of the tunes in the Game Boy version of Tetris is a Russian folk song called ‘Korobeyniki’. Another tune is an arrangement of Bach's ‘Suite No. 3 in B Minor’.
4. Scientists have found that Tetris has a lot in common with some of the hardest mathematical problems and has no simple solution. |

5. In 2004, the BBC broadcast a documentary about the creation and history of Tetris, called ‘From Russia With Love’.
6. The world’s smallest game of Tetris was played under an electron microscope using tiny glass beads called ‘microspheres’.

for producing album covers for the progressive rock band Yes.
8. Tetris is often ranked among the greatest video games of all time, alongside such greats as Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
9. Tetris joined forces with Disney for Magical Tetris Challenge which featured Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.

mobile phone on a flight from Egypt to Manchester. He was playing
