Handwriting

recognition

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training uses the unique touch sensitive technology of Nintendo DS so that you simply write your answers on the screen with a stylus - just like a pen and paper.

You use Brain Training by holding the Nintendo DS like a book, with the touch screen on the right (or the opposite if you are left-handed).

Exercises that involve writing require you to write numbers (in Calculation tests) or characters (in Word Memory) on the touch screen. The built-in handwriting recognition software understands what you write. You can also touch a button to erase your answer if you get it wrong.

Occasionally the handwriting recognition software may be unable to understand what you write, or it might recognise your answer as something different. If this happens, please take a look at our Handwriting Help guide which you may print out if you wish to keep a copy handy while you train.
